Part I: The Cat Walk
It is fun to go to the gay and lesbian film festival (GLFF) not only for the film; there are all kinds of entertainments besides the film itself. My favorite has to be the parade on the catwalk (sidewalk). At the DC GLFF, the organizer segregate the views into pass holders and non-past holders. They stand on different side of the beautiful historic Lincoln Theatre. You will get to parade on either line, but it is often more fun on the non-pass holder line as the runway is longer! Walking towards the end of the line, you get to witness all types of queer on the way: Flamboyant, muscle Mary, nelly queens, hairy bears etc. The best part is, as you are walking down the line, everyone sort of gives you that face-body-face glance to determine if you are do-able for them. Common, we all play that game right?  While it is to the disadvantage of the walker as you have too many to take in at one time, but you often spot the reciprocal glances pretty fast. Can't stand the social butterfly that seems to know everyone in line but me. If you don't mind not getting a good seat, I suggest you go late as the line is longer.

Part II: I am Important!
Standing in line normally not a fun thing to do. However, with a creative mind, standing in line at a GLFF is actually very amusing.  You get to score every boy that walks down towards the end of line after you. Nothing more exciting to get an agreeable return glance from your eye candy. However, those I am important, don't you want to hear about my life story queen often kill the joy with their powerful weapon, cellular phone. Often time, they go on and on till they enter the cinema. Why only those loud mouths like to share their live stories? In this case, having a creative mind is merely a survivor skill at the GLFF.
